IIP Foundation in association with Maulik Bharat Trust, All Grass Root Newspapers of India (AGNI), Dialogue India and Confederation of Community Based Organizations of India (CCBOS) organized a cultural event on “SHAHADAT KE RANG, BALIDAANIYON KO NAMAN” on 7th May at ABSES Engineering College, Ghaziabad.

In this event, homage was paid to the brave soldiers who lost their lives in the Siachen Glacier avalanche that happened on 3rd February. Tributes were paid to Lance Naik Hanamanthappa, Lance Havildar S Kumar, Sepoy Rama Moorthy, Subedar Nagesha TT, Havildar Elumalai M, Sepoy Mustaq Ahmed, Lance Naik Sudheesh, Sepoy Ganesan G, Sepoy Nursing Assistant Suryawanshi and Sepoy Mahesha PN.

Among those who graced the event included Col.A.R.Khan of 4th Grenadiers Battalion; Ms. Minali Singh d/o General (Dr.) V.K.Singh, Hon'ble Minister IC, MoEA, Govt. of India; Mr. Ajay Sehgal who represented Dr. Mahesh Sharma, Hon'ble Minister of from Ministry of Culture and Tourism; and Mr.Dipankar Shri Gyan - Director, Gandhi Samriti Darshan Samiti under Chairmanship of Sh. Narendra Modi Hon'ble Prime Minister of India and Mr. Rais Khan Pathan, Member Waqf Board, Govt. of India.

Mr. Rajesh Goyal, Director, IIP Foundation said that this event was a unique way to pay tributes to the great martyrs and resolved to organise such events in the future too. Col. A.R. Khan of 4th Grenadiers Battalion who fought the 1965 war with Shaheed Param Veer Chakra Abdul Hameed recalled those moments and exhorted the parents to teach their children about India's rich heritage and to feel proud of it. Over 150 students from age 4 to 18 years participated and paid tributes to the great martyrs by their stunning dance and singing performances.
