‘ಸೊಲ್ಮೆಲು’ In Tulu Language it means Thank you!! Indeed a thank–you it is from Anindith, MFA student at IIP from Sulya. His MFA Thesis submission - ‘Unveiling Tulunad’s Bellare: Tracing India’s Earliest Freedom Movement (1837) and the path to Heritage Conservation’ chronicles a journey of passion, academics, documentation and on field activism wherein from spreading community awareness on grass-root level by organising the 188th commemoration event (even Indian flag hoist) at that spot & on the historic date [30 March] at Southern India, where one of the first collective resistance against British colonial exploitation had begun.. Shri Rajesh Goyal Ji honoured the guide [with the shawl representing the flag of the erstwhile historic Tulunad Kingdom] as a mark of tribute from Anindith’s side, Smt. Vinati Sehgal who gave direction to Anindith in bringing out the flair and essence in writing and defining one’s role and place in the modern day and times in this legacy.. Together present were Shri Shailesh Goyal Ji, Mentor Aasif Khan, Anindith and Yogi. Vinati ma’am added: Paraphrased: she recollected how this has been a journey where we (mentor and the student) had a lot of really long conversations - given the gravity of the topic and context (which apparently was a lot to take in initially!) Rajesh sir added that it is not some conceptual type project that has been worked on, but historical subject on which work has been done - which is very very important! Poster (cover page design: done by Vinay Rai Kudla) of the thesis work was revealed during this moment.. #tulunadu #sulya #historical #karnatakadiaries #tulu #mfa #thesis #majorproject #mastersdegree #british #1937 #freedommovement #karnataka #pride #iipacademy #indianinstituteofphotography #anindithgowda #iipians
🎬✨ An Unforgettable Journey at SIFFCY! ✨🎬 Swipe left to dive into a world where creativity meets cinema at its finest. 📽️❤️ Yesterday, 11th April 2024, we, the passionate tribe of IIPians, had the honor of diving into the vibrant world of films at the Smile Film Festival for Children and Youth (SIFFCY), held at the iconic @phdcci Khel Gaon, New Delhi. 🌟🎞️ Our hearts are brimming with pride and joy as we reflect on the incredible opportunity to contribute to and promote the essence of good cinema. From the flickering of the projector to the magic unfolding on screen, every moment was a reminder of the powerful stories that connect us all. 🎥💫 The highlight? Conducting a film-making workshop specifically designed for the brilliant teen students from various schools. Witnessing their enthusiasm, creativity, and potential was truly inspirational. 🌈📹 We believe in the transformative power of cinema and its ability to illuminate minds and hearts. Proud to be a part of this cinematic journey, we extend our heartfelt thanks to SIFFCY for allowing us to share our passion and knowledge with the future storytellers of our world. 🌍📖 Here’s to more such inspiring events and to spreading the love for good cinema far and wide! 🚀💖 #siffcy #filmfestival #childrenfilms #inauguration #photographyschool #photogram #IIPians #SIFFCY2024 #NewDelhi #FilmMakingWorkshop #TeenCreativity #CinemaForYouth #StorytellersOfTomorrow #iipacademy #indianinstituteofphotography
Embracing Cultural Diversity 🇮🇳🇩🇪 Meet Isabelle Walker from Landshut University, Germany! 🌟 Isabelle is on an incredible internship journey in India, exploring the vibrant tapestry of our diverse culture. As a student of multicultural disciplines and new media, she’s on a mission to capture the essence of Indian multicultural living with an anthropological perspective. 📷✨ She’s embarking on an epic adventure across Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Delhi, Haryana, and Maharashtra. From ethnicity to heritage, art, food, philosophy, rituals, and the pride of various communities, Isabelle’s lens will weave a captivating tapestry of our nation’s soul. IIP has always been a platform for cultural exchange, bridging gaps, and building connections - state to state, people to people, and intra-institutional levels. Special thanks to our IIP mentor and Professor Dr. Maja Jerrentrup (@jamari_lior) for making this collaboration possible. 🙌 Stay tuned for Isabelle’s journey as she showcases the beauty of India and Germany coming together in harmony. 📸💫 #CulturalExchange #VisitIndia #MulticulturalMagic #DocumentaryProject #IndianInstituteOfPhotography #IIPExperience #AtithiDevoBhava #VibrantIndia #G20India #iipacademy #internship #cultural-exchange #heritage #culture #indogerman
