The region, traditionally called Tulunadu (includes now Udupi & D.K - Mangaluru Port City Districts of Karnataka & Kasargod District of Kerala) Has produced many achievers and stalwarts in many areas of society - name it from Bollywood to Hotel Industry - cradle of the Indian banking industry and much more. Tulunad’s Bellare is where the Amara Sulya Freedom Movement of 1837 - India’s first collective (public) resistance against the British East India Co.’s oppressive policies began in March 30, 1837.
