We are pleased to welcome Kartikaya Mohan Nagar to the IIP Academy, Noida. Kartikaya joins us as a photography educator and visual practitioner with more than a decade of experience across documentary photography, analogue and film processes, visual storytelling, commercial photography and creative direction. His approach is rooted in craft, observation and the discipline of understanding an image before making it. Formally trained in Creative Photography at the Sri Aurobindo Centre for Arts and Communication, New Delhi, his practice has remained deeply connected with documentary narratives, analogue photography, darkroom processes and human-centred storytelling. As the founder of Gotama and previously Monksin Happiness LLP, Kartikaya brings extensive professional experience in photography, films, employer and brand storytelling, along with the experience of building and mentoring creative teams. At the Faculty of Fine Arts, we believe students must learn not only how to operate a camera, but how to observe, question, interpret and tell meaningful stories through images. The coming together of practitioners, educators and creative thinkers such as Kartikaya strengthens our larger vision of building an institution where traditional photographic craft meets contemporary visual practice, research and industry exposure. We look forward to his contribution in shaping the next generation of photographers and visual storytellers. Welcome to the Faculty of Fine Arts, Kartikaya Mohan Nagar. #BareillyInternationalUniversity #FacultyOfFineArts #IIPAcademy #IIPFoundation #PhotographyEducation #Photography #VisualArts #DocumentaryPhotography #AnaloguePhotography #VisualStorytelling
A Taste of Bengaluru - Through Culture and Camera Documenting food is documenting history. IIP MFA student Arun Sreedharan presents a stunning visual narrative of Bangalore’s cultural cuisine - iconic eateries, timeless spaces, and the everyday rhythm of people that make this city’s food heritage unforgettable. This body of work blends street photography, documentary realism, and cultural storytelling - taking us inside institutions like CTR, Koshy’s, Lakeview Milk Bar, Airlines Hotel, and Mavalli Tiffin Rooms, each carrying decades of memory and taste. At IIP, we research and nurture storytellers who don’t just learn photography but interpret culture and identity through their lens. #IIPians #IIPAcademy #MFAPhotography #DocumentaryPhotography #BangaloreFoodCulture #VisualStorytelling #bangalore #bangaluru #karnataka #karnatakatourism #foodlife #restaurants #research #masters #indianinstituteofphotography Masters in fine arts photography, MFA in fine arts, research, social documentary, cultural documentary

#storytelling This photograph evokes strong metaphorical undertones “The Future of India” suspended in a plastic bag against a harsh wired fence, framed by a forest of tangled shadows. The black-and-white treatment intensifies the sense of isolation, conflict, and contemplation. Technically, the composition is compelling with excellent use of natural backlight and contrast to lead the eye. Thought-provoking and poetic. "Lady from The Mountains" by IIPian Priyanshu Shekhar The Apatani tribe lives in a beautiful place called Ziro Valley in Arunachal Pradesh, a North Eastern State of India. They have some special traditions that make them unique. One interesting thing is that they used to have tattoos on their faces and nose plugs for women to protect them. They grow rice and millet for food and have a special way of watering their crops. The Apatani people follow a system where the family is passed down through the mother's side, and women have an important say in making decisions.
