This is the Tulu Flag. Tulu is one of the ancient Indic languages with its own rich history, tradition and it even has its own calendar. The region, traditionally called Tulunadu (includes now Udupi & D.K - Mangaluru Port City Districts of Karnataka & Kasargod District of Kerala) Has produced many achievers and stalwarts in many areas of society - name it from Bollywood to Hotel Industry - cradle of the Indian banking industry and much more. Tulunad’s Bellare is where the Amara Sulya Freedom Movement of 1837 - India’s first collective (public) resistance against the British East India Co.’s oppressive policies began in March 30, 1837.
